ACCENT & DECO GONGS / 32 inch Accent Gong.
« on: January 12, 2014, 10:10:13 am »
I am enjoying playing the 32" Accent, using the M3 mallets. To my ear it sounds like it is tuned towards C sharp/ D2(please feel free to correct me if im mistaken)  I can appreciate now why Paiste Scrape the front of the majority of the Gongs. As this 32 and the 28 Accent's i own have polished faces, the difference is notable. Still they are very interesting instruments, with very interesting sound.

The Gong is hung from the ceiling using strong cord and large hooks, this allows the gong to turn 180 degrees to deliver interesting effects,

I took ownership of these two last week, A second octave Tuned Gong and No1 Sound Creation Sun Gong. Im looking for a second octave B and D note, so if your willing to ship to Australia, PM me.

I would of liked to have seen the Sun Gong being formed, given its shape. Very interesting and a credit to Walter/ Rudy(not sure who to credit for this Gong). Maybe somebody might enlighten me.

Kind regards

For sure it would be interesting to know how many Paiste Gongs have actually left the factory.
A 'ballpark' figure for each type of gong . Maybe somebody could provide a good estimate?.
